She hires bodyguard Sean Owens, impressed by his quiet confidence and the instant pull between them. Sean, a former minor-league baseball player, gave up his career to help his dad with his security firm, though his failure to save someone 10 years earlier haunts him. Rising tensions as the attacks accelerate, incandescent sex scenes, and a believable villain make this a compelling read.
